The venue established itself way back in 1852, and has been home to live music for decades, hosting legendary acts such as UB40 and Duran Duran whilst also being the epicentre for Birmingham’s punk scene for several years. In the past 18 months we’ve had a complete renovation and reopened as a 100 and 300 capacity venue space, returning to our original name The Castle and Falcon.
In late 2017 a whole host of local promoters came onto the scene including Birmingham Promoters, Sonic Gun, Killer Wave, Catapult Club, Surprise You’re Dead and Punks Alive as well as some of the nation’s biggest promoters Live Nation and SJM promotions. We’ve been lucky enough to have bands travel as far as Canada, North and South America and even Russia to play at The Castle and Falcon, as well as host of the most exciting up and coming artists locally including Riscas, Mahalia, The Night Cafe, Plaza and many more.
All the way from Los Angeles we have the high octane Deap Vally playing this Monday, July 2nd, alongside Ecca Vandal and top local talent Violet. Over the Summer we have the pleasure of hosting the Sonic Gun Weekender commencing August 17th, featuring some of the leading indie bands in the Midlands with headline sets coming from Riscas, Ivory Wave and Harry & The Howlers, plus street food and a top secret DJ set.
Into the Autumn we kick things off with a very special show and perhaps the most stand out artist we’ve had the pleasure to host. Wolfgang Flur, who was of course a member of the legendary electronic band Kraftwerk, plays live on Saturday September 15th. Following on from there we’ve got headline shows from the likes of Airways, Boy Azooga, Birmingham’s Sugarthief, Girli, The Blinders, the aptly named Chainska Brassika, Estrons, Shropshire’s Dan Owen and New York City’s Sunflower Bean. Plus some exciting Christmas shows in the works for you to keep your eyes peeled for. We like to keep busy here and try to have as many new and exciting acts grace our stage as possible, as well as keeping the party going every Friday and Saturday night with DJs spinning until the early hours.
We hope to see as many new faces as possible come to our humble venue, to see what we have coming soon check out our events page. If you like what you see tickets can be purchased from Seetickets!
