The Murder Capital are a five-piece Dublin-based band made up of James McGovern, Morgan Wilson, Damien Tuit, Matt Wilson and Cathal Roper.
2018 was a breakthrough year for the band, with their own explosive live shows and gigs with Slaves, Shame and Fontain
“Immediately The Murder Capital emit a passion that will turn heads, but importantly they are a voice with something to shout about, and that could truly cement them as something to cherish.” – So Young
“There is a story that emanates through The Murder Capital’s biting voice. It’s caustic punk with widescreen ambition; music that sounds and feels like where it came from.” – Loud & Quiet
“The Murder Capital’s bolshy, violent sounding post-punk would make a fitting soundtrack to a city ten times more dangerous than the Irish capital.” – NME
The band formed while studying in Brighton, a city whose rich music scene seems to offer infinite creative possibilities.
Debut single ‘Feel Better’ emerged last year, an intense dose of frenetic noise with a neo-industrial sound.
Working with Andy Savours – who once stood in a studio with My Bloody Valentine, and lived to tell the tale – the group are now ready to share something new.
‘Split In Two’ appropriately feels like a song in two conflicting parts, the animalistic noise of the arrangement colliding with the indie pop edged vocals.
The collision makes for something riveting, the fusion of stark black and pure white rupturing into stark monochrome shades.
