Anyone who calls themselves a fan of live music can’t afford to miss these four gigs in October. From hot off the press, brand new indie/punk bands, to established, unique artists with show stopping performances. Tickets for these events (and more!) are available from the SeeTickets website.

Teleman

Teleman are back with a tastefully witty, intoxicatingly addictive glitch pop/indie third album. ‘Family of Aliens’ is a futuristic and robotic, yet completely authentic record that is more than a triumphant return. Teleman have nailed the formula for a perfect pop song, with immaculate hooks, retro synths and a quick wit that makes this London quartet stand out from the rest.

Boy Azooga

Cardiff’s own music mogul and bongo extraordinaire Boy Azooga has hit the indie charts with the swift chop that is 1,2, Kung Fu. With the rhythmic pulse of a late night pop dungeon, mixed with a retro gleam and influences stretching from Beastie Boys and Black Sabbath, to Ty Segall and Van McCoy. After being backed by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and BBC 2’s Jools Holland, Boy Azooga and co have stormed the festival circuit, ready to take on a fully fledged UK tour. Expect wild percussion, chasing guitars and flickers of glowing gleam pop on Wednesday, October 10th, supported by Man of Moon and Birmingham’s Brain Food

The Blinders

With their debut album ‘Columbia’ only a few weeks old, The Blinders have already created a chasm in the indie/punk movement. Fully fledged with biting, fiery political lyrics (brownie points for guessing where Land of The Free is about) that are both hyper aware of their space in society, but intelligent enough to create their own world. And in this world, its a chaotic spin of chunk riffs, swirling drums and anthemic choruses. The Blinders may be new on the circuit, but believe us, they’re here to stay. Catch them with Calva Louise and Birmingham’s The Mother’s Earth Experiment on Tuesday, October 23rd.

Macka B

Something a little different to bring October to a close is a man who takes his positivity, honesty and integrity and mixes it up into insightful and catchy reggae tracks. The Midlands’ own Macka B is taking his wealth of health knowledge on tour, performing the sensational viral tracks that put him and healthy food, on the music map! Joined by The Roots Ragga Band, catch the enigmatic and insightful Macka B live on Saturday, October 27th.
