September at The Castle and Falcon is nothing shy of amazing, as this month spans genres and decades with specially selected bands.
We’re kicking things off with two staple British bands: Oasis and Blur. Both incredible Britpop bands, but who is the reigning champion? It’s time to find out as Oasis Maybe and BLURry battle it out at Blur vs Oasis on September 7th.
Performing at their first ever headline gig are three piece indie pop sensation Lunafall. They’ve exploded onto the music scene with their addictive indie hooks and eclectic mix of influences that create high energy pop tracks. Catch them live on September 8th, with tickets also including an after-show meet and greet!
September 15th is a big date for the diary, as one of the pioneers of electronic music will be live at The Castle and Falcon. Wolfgang Flur was one of the driving members of electronic group Kraftwerk, helping them break through to a world wide audience in his 10 years as their drummer. Expect an electronic show with electrifying visuals to his famous Kraftwerk and solo tracks.
Proficient, reflective and self affecting, that’s how Leeds progressive band KOYO have been hailed. Forming in 2015, the five piece blend their inspirations of The Velvet Underground, My Bloody Valentine and Kurt Vile with cosmic synthesisers and reverb. Each track is a supersonic rift through space, a psych/rock hybrid group with a dynamic stage presence to match their music. Be sure to catch KOYO live on Monday, September 17th.
Drawing September to a close are a young, refreshing indie rock band that carry the much loved, nostalgic sound of late 2000’s indie rock. Airways are the perfect indie band for those who love the sound of Arctic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, Gorillaz and Circa Waves, but want to find it in something exhilaratingly new. From Peterborough via Chicago, the band exude drive and determination to make themselves known, supporting Nothing But Thieves on a recent sell out tour. Be part of a brand new wave of exciting British bands and catch these live on September 28th.

The Castle & Falcon is a great supporter of national and international music and it made total sense to put our first weekender here!
“The bands on the bill are all bands that Sonic Gun Concerts have worked closely with over the last 3 years and the idea for the weekender was to put a spotlight on the amazing talent our city has. Every event needs great food and drink and we’ve got exactly that, I absolutely love everything about House of Hen and I am so happy they wanted to be involved in the weekend. It should be a fantastic weekend and I hope you can all join me there.”
The Sonic Gun Weekender starts at 6pm on Friday, August 17th, 3pm on Saturday 18th and Sunday, August 19th. Tickets are close to selling out, so grab yours whilst you can.
